This trip will feature an eight day backpacking trip on a high alpine loop, as well as an attempt at a 14,000 foot peak! This trip will take place in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Students will gain proficiency in a full range of wilderness living and travel skills. Students should anticipate moderate hiking, a peak ascent and possible snow travel.

Aug. 10 – Backpack 8 Miles to High Alpine Lake
Aug. 11 – Backpack 10 Miles to; Cross Alpine Pass
Aug. 12 – Backpack 8 Miles; Cross Alpine Pass
Aug. 13 – Solo Experience
Aug. 14 – Backpack 8 Miles
Aug. 15 – Depart Wilderness; Relax and Hot Tub at the Aspen Rec Center; Stage for 14,000 Peak Ascent
Aug. 16 – Peak Ascent! Alpine Start; Climb 14,000 foot Mountain
Aug. 17 – Return to Calvin College by 2:00PM
